Duties

The mental health technician is responsible for providing mental health services to patients in the community. Tasks include assisting with patient care, treatment planning and management of substance use disorders as well as monitoring medications used by clients, performing physical examinations on individuals and administering medication as directed by a physician.

Detailed job duties include:

  • Provide mental health services to patients in a residential or outpatient setting.
  • Provide treatment and support for clients with substance use disorders, including but not limited to psychotropic medications, medication management, behavioral health interventions, etc.

Qualification

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited college or university in mental health, psychology or related field
  • Must have current state license as psychiatrist with the state board for mental health
  • Minimum age requirement: 21 years old
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
