Overview
We are a fast-growing mortgage processing company. Our team of professionals is dedicated to helping our clients achieve their financial goals and objectives while maintaining the highest level of customer service. As a mortgage processor, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of your loan process from initial approval through closing. You will also work closely with other members in the finance department as well as internal teams on various projects including financing, credit analysis, documentation, etc. This position requires excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Duties
The mortgage processor is responsible for the preparation of all mortgage documents and preparing loan documentation. This includes reviewing, processing and closing applications and providing information to lenders regarding their creditworthiness (credit score), financial status and income. May also be responsible for maintaining accurate records on loans submitted by bankers.
Detailed job duties include:
- Process and approve mortgage applications.
- Ensure that all loan documents are completed accurately, timely and complete in accordance with the lender’s guidelines.
- Identify issues to be resolved within a timeframe set by lenders.
- Obtain approval for new loans from banks or other third party lenders.
- Organize and maintain accurate documentation on approved transactions.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding information submitted through bank accounts.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws and related regulations.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a mortgage processor
- Strong analytical skills including the ability to analyze data and make decisions
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong organizational skills
- Able to learn quickly while working independently
- Proficient computer skills such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
