Overview

As a network systems operator, you will be responsible for performing all aspects of networking operations including monitoring, troubleshooting, configuration management, data center administration, security and maintenance support. You will also have the responsibility for maintaining networks in accordance with company standards as well as industry best practices.
Duties
The network systems operator is responsible for the operation of a variety of network systems, including wireless, fiber optic and other networks. In addition, the person in this role may also perform various tasks related directly or indirectly to support customer needs. Other duties include but are not limited to monitoring equipment while maintaining quality control over the work environment.
Detailed job duties include:
- Operate and maintain a variety of network equipment including: wireless, fiber optic, optical, satellite and telephone.
- Perform routine maintenance on the network systems to ensure that all systems are operating properly in accordance with company standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management or supervisory authority when necessary for system operation/maintenance.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed at each site within established procedures.
- Ensure proper use of appropriate tools such as computer programs, software applications, hardware and related documentation is maintained according to company policies and procedures.
Qualification
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or related field
- Must be at least 18 years old and have an active CDL license or the ability to obtain within 90 days from date of hire (ie: CSP/CIP)
- Must possess strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
- Experience working on network equipment is preferred but not required; experience using Cisco EMC-SQL for data center operations will also be considered.
