The nutrition assistant will be responsible for maintaining an efficient diet plan in accordance with established guidelines as well as following all safety procedures when performing duties related to feeding clients. This position requires excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Duties
The nutrition assistant is responsible for providing nutrition assistance to the dietary intake of patients. This includes planning menus and serving food, making sure all foods are properly prepared according to nutritional guidelines, maintaining accurate records on daily meals and taking notes in order to ensure proper amounts of food are being consumed by clients.
Detailed job duties include:
- Provide nutrition assistance to the food service team.
- Assist with preparation of meals, serving foods according to USDA guidelines.
- Prepare recipes using nutritional information.
- Prepare products by hand.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ensure that all employees are trained in safe work practices and procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized and well-stocked kitchen area.
Qualification
- Must be able to work in an office environment
- Ability and willingness to learn new skills
- Strong communication skills with both internal and external customers
- 2 years of previous experience working at a food service facility or restaurant preferred but not required
