Overview
As an operating room technician, you will be responsible for performing all aspects of patient care including cleaning, sterilizing, disinfection, etc. You must have excellent communication skills as well as the ability to work independently or under pressure while maintaining confidentiality.
Duties
The operating room technician is responsible for the care and maintenance of all operating room equipment, including but not limited to sterile instruments, surgical instruments, sterilization equipment, etc. The person in this position will be responsible for performing routine cleanings in an operating room environment as well as providing excellent patient service through proper use of supplies and procedures. May be required to keep up with current state standards regarding cleanliness and sanitation practices within hospital facilities.
Detailed job duties include:
- Perform all duties in accordance with the standards of a hospital.
- Perform daily cleaning and sanitizing.
- Assist with sterilizing equipment and preparing operating theaters.
- Assist before and after surgery as needed.
Qualification
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently
- Ability to work independently as well on multiple projects
- Demonstrated knowledge of operating room equipment including but not limited to: surgical instruments, instrumentation, supplies, etc.
- Ability and willingness to work overtime when necessary
- Excellent communication skills
