Overview

As an ophthalmic technician, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic tests on patients with various types or conditions including cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic vision and peripheral vision issues.
Duties
The ophthalmic technician is responsible for performing ophthalmic procedures and providing patient care in an outpatient setting. This position requires the ability to work independently, with minimal supervision. You must be detail-oriented while maintaining high standards of quality at all times. Must have excellent communication skills both written and verbal as well provide technical assistance when needed.
Detailed job duties include:
- Perform ophthalmic procedures and perform diagnostic tests on patients.
- Perform routine eye exams, including visual field testing, intra-ocular blood gas analysis and other laboratory work as needed to determine the extent of damage or disease.
- Review patient records for accuracy.
- Analyze clinical findings using appropriate instruments/tools).
- Provide accurate documentation.
Qualification
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have experience working in an office environment
- Must have a professional experience and be a quick learner
- Able to work in all weather conditions, including heat and cold
