Overview

As an optometric technician, you will be responsible for performing all aspects of customer service including fitting lenses, making adjustments in order to ensure optimal fit, setting up new frames as needed, operating lasers (electronic) and other equipment at manufacturing facilities or warehouses and installing custom lenses on existing models.
Duties
The optical technician will be responsible for the operation of a variety of equipment including laser, digital, fiber optics and micrometers. This position is located in the center of downtown Minneapolis with excellent access to major highways, shopping centers, restaurants, and other retail stores as well as several commercial locations throughout the Midwest. In addition, this person must have experience working on various types or models of lenses.
Detailed job duties include:
- Perform optical inspection of the optic lens and a variety of other equipment.
- Ensure that all parts are properly assembled, cleaned and ready for shipment to customers in accordance with company standards.
- Maintain accurate records on quality control procedures including but not limited to inventory management.
Qualification
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be able to work in an office environment with minimal supervision
- Ability for self-motivation; must possess excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and be professional and courteous at all times
