Duties
The orthodontic assistant is responsible for the care and maintenance of orthodontic instruments, equipment, supplies, tools, materials and more in accordance with state standards as well as a variety of other duties assigned by the dentist or dental clinic staff to ensure that all patients receive excellent patient care. This position requires an individual who can work independently while maintaining good customer service skills. Must be comfortable working under pressure from others at times.
Detailed job duties include:
- Assist dentists in the preparation of dental crowns, bridges and other orthodontic instruments.
- Provide assistance for any preparation, delivery of services and clean-up after procedures.
- Keep records.
Qualification
- Must be able to work in an office environment.
- Ability and willingness to learn new skills, as well as have the ability/willingness for learning more about orthodontics!
- Excellent communication skills with both patients and staff alike; excellent customer service skills are required.
