Duties
The primary care physician is responsible for the delivery of comprehensive, high quality medical services to patients in a variety and diverse settings. This includes providing direct patient care through consultation with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, nurse practitioners and social workers. Physicians will perform physical examinations on patients, including but not limited to diagnostic tests, screening, diagnosis, treatment planning, discharge planning, follow-up visits and referrals.
Detailed job duties include:
- Provide primary care to patients in the community.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive plan of care that includes prescriber-approved medications, preventive health programs and other services as needed by the patient.
- Provide direct medical attention for all patients with acute or chronic illnesses.
- Provide treatment plans according to established protocols including but not limited only to oral medication management, physical examinations and diagnostic tests.
- Analyze complex problems using appropriate clinical knowledge and experience (eg, diagnosis, treatment planning).
- Perform routine laboratory procedures such as caustic blood gas analysis, electrocardiograms, etc.
Qualification
- Board certified or board eligible in primary care
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Must be board eligible/certified by the American Heart Association, as well as have a current active medical license to practice medicine
- Minimum age requirement: 21 years old
