As a product specialist, you will be responsible for developing products from concept through launch. You’ll work closely with other product teams across multiple industries including healthcare, education, government and more. This role requires strong communication skills as well an ability to work independently or collaboratively on projects.
Duties
The product specialist is responsible for defining and implementing new products or enhancing existing products. The person in this role will be responsible for the development of product roadmaps that are aligned with business needs and customer requirements. They must have strong analytical skills in order to understand market trends and identify opportunities for improvement. A successful candidate would also enjoy working on cross-functional teams across multiple functional areas.
Detailed job duties include:
- Develop and maintain product roadmaps, including ad-hoc requirements analysis.
- Work with the product manager to develop new products that meet customer needs.
- Create and manage user stories for our customers by developing strong relationships between users, developers and vendors.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships across multiple teams in order to achieve business goals.
- Manage all aspects of project management from concept through delivery.
- Lead cross functional team meetings as needed; work closely with other departments on projects or initiatives.
- Ensure that all products are designed to meet the needs of customers.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related field
- 5+ years of experience as a product specialist with an emphasis on software development and product management
- Experience working with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) is preferred
- Strong analytical skills including ability to analyze data and make recommendations for improvement
- Ability to work independently while maintaining confidentiality
- Proven track record of managing multiple projects at once
- Demonstrable success developing products that are user-friendly and deliverable focused
- Working knowledge of agile methodologies such as scrum
- Must be self-motivated
