Duties
The technologist is responsible for the design, development and installation of a variety of types of equipment and machines (e.g: electrical, mechanical, hydraulics) to support various projects in the field. Tasks will include testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair etc. This position requires an individual with experience working on multiple projects simultaneously as well as being proficient at using all tools available within their assigned area. Must be willing to work independently while maintaining good communication skills.
Detailed job duties include:
- Perform a variety of technical tasks including design, development and implementation of new products.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Perform related work to meet customer needs while maintaining high standards for quality and safety at all times.
- Provide support services so that equipment is maintained properly and efficiently according to company policy.
- Maintain accurate records on product inventories/repairs, production schedules, etc.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mechanical engineering or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a technologist with an emphasis on electrical engineering and/or mechanical design for the purpose of providing technical support to customers
- Experience working with high-end industrial equipment is preferred
- Must be capable of performing all aspects of this position within established time frames
- Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
